V-day Recap

Now that the V-day bug is wearing off, everything is returning to normal. Don't get me wrong, love is always in the air for us. This V-day was very special to us for so many reason. It is our first V-day spent together as a married couple, the first V-day we've actually celebrated on the exact day (due to our long distance relationship, we've always had to celebrate it the weekend before or the one after), the first V-day we've spent together since we started dating, and of course it reminds me of the night he asked me to be his wife. With all that said, just the fact that we get to spend it together under the same roof was enough for me, that was my V-day present, that was all I needed.

The eve of V-day I decided to surprise Mr. D. with something thoughtful. He usually wakes before me in the morning, so I thought leaving him a note on the mirror would be a perfect way to start his day the next morning, so I left him this message.

Mr. D. came home with something for me also, some yummy chocolate and candy. Knowing myself, it will probably be all gone soon. I'll try not to eat it all in one seating :)

I came across a recipe for strawberry cake on Pinterest some few days ago and as soon as I saw the picture, I knew I had to make it for V-day treat, it just looked perfect and yummy, so I did. The plan was to come back home and have it for desert after dinner. That did not happen.

For dinner, we made reservation at a restaurant called Tula. The place was packed by the time we got there and I wasn't surprise. I kind of expected it to be like that wherever we ended up going, so I was ok with waiting some few minutes to be seated even though we had made reservations. The restaurant was nice and the food was good. Will definitely like to go back there when it isn't V-day to try something different.

I had the Swordfish with Saffron rice and Chorizo, and Mr. D. had the Pasta Fettuccine with shrimp. I vowed to finish my food this time because most times when we eat out I tend not to finish my food. Well, I can honestly say that was a bad call and I regretted  finishing the food, even though the food was good, by the time I was done, I was beyond full and could barely walk upright. Needless to say, I passed on desert when we got home.

Overall, it was a good day. I had fun, enjoyed the company of my hubby and it felt great not having to worry about what we're having for dinner. Cheers to more date nights to come!

Our wedding video finally arrived today, perfect timing, so we ended the night watching it. I love the video, it truly reminds me of all the work, efforts and love that went into making our day special. We appreciate everyone that contributed in one way or the other and we love you all.
