Bold Stripes

Happy Monday Lovelies!
A weekend well spent makes for a happy Monday.
Hope you had a great weekend. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I actually had a weekend. That's means, I finally got some me time, time with the hubs and Eliana, time to nap / rest and time to cook and complete my usual chores. Summer time Is usually busy with lots of activities going on and events to attend. So, lately we've been hoping from one event to the other. But, this weekend, we had nothing on the calendar so we had the weekend to ourselves. We even ventured out to the movie with Eliana. That was an experience! We only did this because Eliana is pretty pleasant and quite and it was around her nap time, so we figured she'll sleep through it.  The beginning (about the first 15minutes into the movie) was a little rough, trying to get her to sleep, but once she fell asleep, we were golden. She made it through the 20 minutes preview quietly staring at the screen, but when the movie actually started, this little girl wanted to add her own two cents and laugh and play. Hubby had to take her out for  a bit. They eventually came back in and I was able to put her sleep; we enjoyed the rest of the movies in peace. Don't know how likely it is that's we'll be doing that again. But it was definitely a different experience going to the movies with a 9 months old.

You know stripes and polka dots are my favorite. Let's not forget I love a classic black and white look also. I built this outfit around the skirt. The bold stripes says a lot already, so I paired it with a basic black tank top , black clutch and a mirrored statement necklace. Deviating from an all black and white look, I added some color with an orange jacket and a burnt orange leopard print t-strip heels.
I hope you're having a great day so far.
Make the rest fabulous.

Floral And A Bun

Hi Loves!
Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was good. Spent the weekend attending cookouts for birthdays on Saturday and Sunday. I also had a surprise visit from one of my friends. She was in NYC so she decided to stop by and we pretty much spent all of Saturday together. I convinced her to go to the barbeque with us and we had so much fun. We always have a good time when we hang out. If only she spent the night. Looks like we might be seeing more of each other in the future so I'm looking forward to that.

For this outfit I was going for a dressy causal look. Didn't feel like wearing heels so opted for my block heel sandals. This floral full skirt and sleeveless white shirt combination is a perfect easy dressy-casual summer outfit.
Wish you a great rest of the week .

Curls and Floral

Hello beautiful people.
My stylist finally got me to break away from my regular straight hair and try something new. Let's just say that wouldn't be happening anytime soon again. I love wearing my hair straight, it's easy to maintain. With curls I have no clue what to do with it after the curls falls out and becomes messy in usually less than a week. I usually end up wearing my hair in a bun or pony tail till my next visit to the salon.

Floral print are great statement piece. When wearing floral print, I like to keep everything else to a minimum. Paired the top and skirt together with a green and gold strappy scandal for a easy breezy summer look.
Hope your week is going well.

Letter To My 9 Months Old Sweet Eliana

DSCN5014Eliana my love, you've turned 9 months just like that.
Someone thought you were 12 months already and that made my heart beat faster. The thought of you being a year old already, well lets' just not think about it. I'm just not ready for it.
Playing in sea of bows. About half of them.
At 9 months, you are saying dada.
You started crawling backwards and then sideways and now finally you are going forward bit by bit.
You help with getting you dressed in the morning. Once I put your dress over your head, you help to pull it down. It may be in anticipation to get it out of your face but I call it help. For the sleeves, you push your arms through once I start pulling. Now that tells me you know what you're doing.
Because bows taste good
I was asking you on Sunday if you liked your dress and somehow, you replied "I do". Now I know you're not talking yet and it was probably a coincidence that whatever you seem to be babbling at that point was a perfect reply to my question. Your dad was there and it all happened so perfectly that he couldn't even dispute that that wasn't what you said.

You're started having diva moments (tantrum). It's just the beginning stage so it's not that bad. You start with a fake cry and throw your feet up and down and it eventually gets louder and louder, sometimes turns to a real cry until you get what you want.
All that is easily forgettable when you make this stinking cute face that I'm yet to capture on camera. You squint or shut your eyes tightly with a big grin on your face while shaking your head. I'm guessing that's your happy face. You make the face either while eating or playing really hard.
Bows make you happy
You're becoming shy around strangers and even familiar faces. You cling to mommy and daddy when we are out or when we have people over.  I think it's one of those phases again. You now cry briefly or want to cry when I drop you off at daycare. You're good as soon as your teachers pick you up.

You went to the beach for the first time. I think you enjoyed it. Although mommy didn't let you get too deep in the sand or eat any for that matter. Maybe next time. lol
DSCN5033 DSCN5022 Taking your monthly pictures is becoming a challenge. You think it's play time. Above is one of the decent ones I got this month.
All you want to do is grab and eat the blocks.
And when you are done with that, you try to run away.
I remember a time when you would fit perfectly on this blanket with plenty of space to spare all around. Now you have body parts sticking out from all angle.

Eliana, may you continue to grow in good health, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. The hands of God will continually be upon you. You will be blessed and favored everywhere you. You will be a source of blessing to others. Among you peers, you will shine. Your name will be known for good. By the grace of God, your future is bright and you'll fulfill your destiny.

Love you honey. xoxo

Boyfriend and Dots

Hi Loves!
Hope you a had a good week. Sorry I've been missing in action. I was away on a work trip with barely any reception. Glad to be back home. To say I terribly miss Eliana and hubby will be an understatement. This would be the first time I left her behind to travel. Can't believe I left my baby for the first time for a whole week.  Don't know how I survived but I did.
The only reason I was able to do this and made things easier is the fact that she isn't breastfeeding directly. So, while I was gone, a good part of the freezer reserve was used up, but, I brought more back. It's funny how I was hundreds of miles away from her and still washing bottles, even though I joked about not washing bottles before I left. Daddy did a great job, not that I expect anything less. He is great with her in all areas. They had their bounding time and it's needed from time to time.In short, just happy to be back home with my family.

So, you barely see me in jeans on the blog, but I do wear them. I decided to do a causal outfit since there doesn't seem to be a lot of that on here. While I love my skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans are the next best thing. The comfort tops everything else and I love the grungy look you get in them also. For a very free, relaxed look, I paired my boyfriend jeans with a box polka dot top. Completed the look with a minimal strappy scandal and a red bag.
Have a great weekend!
