Stripes, Studs And Pearls

 Hello Lovelies! Happy Monday!
With the official arrival of spring, comes even more snowy, cold and windy weather in the nearest future. While I can't yet put away my heavy duty coats and wear skirts comfortably without tights or panty hose, I find myself enjoying what I'm hoping will be the last few days of the leftover winter weather.

Hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a great start. I had another relaxing weekend, watching movies and spending time with Mr. D. who was away last weekend. Our weekend schedule seems to be getting back in synch which I love. We saw The Croods and The Call. The Croods was definitely fun to watch with a lot of giggles in between. I really enjoyed it. The Call on the other hand, I enjoyed as well but there won't be a repeat. I'm not a fan of horror movies or any kind of movie that messes with the mind and has a character going about killing people due to some psychological issues. I sort of knew this movie was going to be one of those, so I wasn't surprised when I went to bed and couldn't fall asleep for a while because some disturbing scenes from the movie were replaying in my head. Anyways, it was a good movie, just couldn't get it out of my head for that day/night.

Enjoy today's outfit post featuring striped shirt, studded blazer and clutch and pearls accessories.

Currently Loving::Plumb

I recently discovered a Contemporary Christian singer, Tiffany Arbuckle Lee, who goes by the stage name of Plumb. The first time I heard her song, In My Arms, I immediately wanted to know who it was and I found out with the help of Shazam. That led me to her other songs. I can officially say I am in love with this girl, her style, her story and her beautiful voice.
She's been around for awhile. She released her first album in 1997 titled Plumb. My favorites singles right now are In My Arms and Need You Now (How ManyTimes) from her new album.

I am still exploring her music and loving every bit of it so far. It has this ability to take you to place of serenity, a little melancholy and just letting go.

Enjoy!

Green and Grey

Hi lovelies!
Hope you had a lovely weekend. My saturday morning was filled with yoga. I'm glad I'm finally back in the game. Just have to keep it up now. Afternoon was filled with chores around the house. I cleaned anything and everything I could and I enjoyed every moment of it and my early evening was filled with grocery shopping and cooking. I made Moi-Moi. something I haven't made in a while, along with some other regulars. Sunday was very chilled, went to church, took a long nap and ended the weekend watching part 3 of THE BIBLE series on the History channel. Anyone else watching the show?

So it totally skipped my mind that Sunday was St. Patrick's day. I didn't realize it until I walked into church and someone greeted me and made a comment about my green outfit combination. It was not my intention to match with St. Patrick's day color. But, I'm sure you'll find that very hard to believe looking at me. Even my nails are green. What a coincidence! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Not that there's anything wrong with wearing green for St. Patrick's, it just wasn't on my agenda.

Anyways, today's outfit features oldies from my closet. The weather was nice enough for a pair of strappy sandals so I went for it. Choosing one of my favorites with gold straps and heels. Paired it with my green polka dot pleat skirt and ANOTHER peplum jacket. I'm sure you're tired of seeing me in peplums by now :) Finished the look with my two tone Asos envelope clutch.

Happy Friday Lovers!
I'm Currently blogging from the airport. What better way to pass time. I've been unlucky with my last couple of flights that it ends up getting delayed for hours. keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't get cancelled.

I'm tired of wishing and looking forward to spring arrival and with all the snow we're getting, well, I'm just putting that thought aside for now. That obviously doesn't mean I'm putting my spring-ish florals away. In fact it's coming out in double portion, top and bottom. I love these pieces because they actually look great worn together and not overwhelming and will probably look even better paired separately. Years ago, I dare not pick up a bold print pattern piece not to talk of wearing it as a complete look. How style evolves! It's definitely interesting to see how my style is evolving and even more interesting seeing it through this blog. Here's to making even bolder choice and trying new things.

Have a great weekend everyone! I know I will because time spent with the girls is always fun :)

Oven Roasted Shrimp Tacos with Sour Cream Sauce

I used to work at a Mexican restaurant back in college. Before I started working I wasn't a fan of Mexican, but by the time I was done working there I definitely had a few favorite. I guess it was a good thing working there because I still remember some of their recipes and I can whip it up whenever I like. Of course it doesn't taste exactly the same but it's close enough. All that inspired the taco I made last weekend.  I was going to make my own fresh salsa and guacamole, two things that I actually still remember the exact recipe, but hunger, time and a couple other things  got in the way of that.

Ingredients
1/4 cup sour cream
1 1/2 tbsp mayonnase
1 1/2 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp chilli powder
12 large shrimp; peeled, washed and dried
1 1/2 tbsp butter, melted
1 large garlic clove, minced
4 6-inch corn/flour tortillas
1 cup shredded green cabbage
Shredded Cheese
Salt
pepper
Blue Chips
Mild Salsa
Cilantro

Directions
1. In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, milk, and chilli powder. Set aside.
2. In a small combine butter and garlic. Place shrimp in a baking dish, season with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle the shrimp with the garlic butter and toss to coat. Spread out in a single layer.
3. Place and roast in oven at 425degrees F for  8 to 10 minutes.
4. Warm tortillas for about 20 seconds on each side in a  dry and hot pan. Layer with cabbage, shrimp, sour cream sauce and shredded  cheese. Serve with chips and salsa. Enjoy!

Black and Red

Hi Lovelies. Happy Sunday! Happy New Month!!
Hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was super relaxed and I enjoyed every moment of it. No parties, no home visits, no road trips, no leaving the house unless I wanted to. Ah! that sounds like a luxury these days. It is a nice break before picking up the pace again next weekend in Kentucky. Even though I felt guilty not doing some things around the house like I planned on, I'm was more satisfied laying around and being a lazy bum.

The weather has been nice lately, so I pulled out one of my favorites skirts from Asos, previously worn here and gave it another day out. Paired it with another peplum top. This is a little different in style with the high neck and back zipper, so I feel like it's something new, as opposed to just another one of many peplum tops in my closet. I've been wearing a lot of peplum lately, I guess I'm even more attracted to them now.
Wish you a great week ahead.
