Holiday Dresses for Baby Girl

I have a handful of trusted places I shop for Eliana and they include Zara, Gap, H&M, Target, Gymboree and Zulily in no particular order. I'm sure you won't be surprised if I tell you her closet is full of dresses. Now that the holiday season is around the corner, it's hard to resist adding even more. Target is known to have some really nice and affordable dresses and their holiday selection doesn't disappoint. Eliana already has some of these dresses in her closet and I might just add more because a girl can never have too many dresses. These are just a few of my favorites and most of them are currently on sale.
Happy shopping for your little girls.

Happy Wednesday!
Ready for Thanksgiving and the long weekend ahead.

Talking about thanksgiving, it is very important to spend the day in comfy clothing and one that has room to hide my food bump afterwards :). I will be spending the day in something similar to this; an oversized sweater and  some comfortable pants. To dress up this casual ensemble, I added a long vest and knee high boots.
Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your time with family and friends!

Hi loves! Happy Monday!
Hope you had a great Weekend. Mine felt super short. The good thing is that this week is a short work week. Looking forward to Wednesday already. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?  We've been invited over by a friend of ours so we'll been spending Thanksgiving evening with friends.  One more thing I hope to get done this coming weekend is our family holiday picture. We didn't do one last year as we were literally all over the place. Hubby was in Nigeria and Eliana and I were in Indiana. Since this will  be our first official Christmas spent together as a family of three, I intend to try to make it a memorable one. Especially since Eliana is old enough to participate and enjoy the festivities.  Can't believe we're talking about Christmas already.  Where did the year go?!

Hubby occasionally let's me know when he really  really likes what I'm wearing.  And, this dress did catch his attention.  As I finished getting ready for a wedding about a month ago and walked into the room. The first he said was, where did you get this dress from? Of course my immediate response was, why? To which he responded, I love it! I questioned him more to know what he really liked about it and he said the pattern, structure, simplicity and it looks well made.
Well, ta-da...those are the exact same things I like about the dress also. I wouldn't have guessed this will be one of his favorite of my dresses, but now I know.  It is definitely on my favorite list also. This orange bag happened to be on rotation at the time so I thought, why not pair it with matching orange shoes, which I did and I love.
Enjoy your day!

Brown & Black

Hi loves! Happy Friday!
I think this week went by fast. Must have something to do with the great time I had last weekend.

Brown and black, one of those odd-could-go-either-way pairing. Add some pattern like stripes and leopard prints and it looks like we have a perfect pairing.
Enjoy your weekend!

Coat Happy

It's that time of the year again. Time to bring out the coats and boots, if they are not already out. I always find myself gearing towards neutral colored coats but I'm slowly trying to break out of that mood and add some color to my coat closet. I've already added this blue one here to my closet and I'm currently craving this.

 Hi Loves! Happy Monday!
Hope you had a nice weekend. I sure did. It was my birthday weekend. Thank God for another year and His continuous faithfulness in my life. Couldn't be more grateful for where I am today, but I know He has even greater plans for me.
Thanks to hubby, I pretty much didn't lift a finger the entire weekend. From breakfast in bed, to the wining and dinning and trying new things. It was a fun filled relaxing weekend and I really enjoyed myself, celebrating with my 2 favorite people. Still lliving off the hype from this weekend.

This outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago to church. It's hard to resist the midi skirt and crop top combo. So, when I saw this boxy lace-inspired crop top and matching skirt (now on sale), well there was no need to think about it. While I paired both matching pieces together here, I'm looking forward to styling them separately.
Have a great week.

Birthday Wish List

  Hello Loves!
With my birthday fast approaching on Saturday, I decided to put together a list of things I'm currently eying or have sitting in my saved/wish list.
As you can see I have a thing for dresses at the moment. Eliza J and Kate Spade dresses in particular. I mean what's not to love about them. These will be perfect for the upcoming holiday season also.

Trench Cape & Peplum Hem

Hi Loves! Happy Monday!
Hope you had a great weekend. Of course, the weekend flew by again.
Mine was filled with the usual weekend chores and errands and a couple of events. One of which was a movie night for marriage people at my church. We watched the movie Marriage Retreat and had a decision about it afterwards. It was a night well spent with fellow marriage Christian folks.

I'm sure you've seen this skirt around the web and have noticed the Peplum Hem trend. I wasn't sure if such style of skirt will look good or fit well on an almost petite person like me so I refrained. But, when the skirt finally went on sale, I decided to give it a try. That would make me feel better if I ended up not liking it. Glad to say I love it. It fits perfectly, not an awkward length at all. Fits just like a midi length skirt of dress would. I guess you can control where the hem line hits by wearing it high waisted or otherwise. This successful experiment promoted me to get this one here, although a bit longer and a different fabric/texture.
To compliment the dramatic skirt, I went with a simple tee and paired it with a black and white polka dot pumps. To finish the look, I added this trench cape. I love how the trench end right where the hem begins on the skirt and the fluidity it brings to an otherwise structured look.

Floral & Hint of Red

DSCN5758
 Hi Loves!
Hope your week has been great. The weekend is right around the corner and I'm looking forward to it. Although, I have a lot to accomplish and events to attend.

I wore this skirt previously here. The A-line structure and the muted black and white floral pattern makes it easy to transition from play to work. While I might think twice about wearing some of my other floral pieces to work, that is not the case for this skirt. The classic A-line shape, basic black and white colors and the subtlety of the pattern makes it a win. Paired it with my black lace crop top, previously seen here, and black blazer keeping with the tone of the skirt. Added a pop of color with the red sandals.
Enjoy the weekend ahead.

Happy Monday! Happy New Month!
Welcome to my birth month! My last birthday was "uneventful" as I was cozying up with my one month old baby. This year will be the exact opposite. Lol.

The weather has changed drastically and it was very windy this weekend. I don't think I'm ready physically or mentally for the days ahead and this winter season. Can we just skip It all together?!
Looking forward to seeing my hair again. Taking out the braids I've had for the last few weeks (you'll see in up coming posts) this weekend. I know what my hair is going to look like walking into my stylist shop, but not exactly sure what it will look like when I walk out.

This linen pants easily became my favorite and go-to pants this summer. Finally getting a break from me now that the warmer days are behind us. Might still sneak it in every now and in the days ahead. It is just very comfortable and light weight and I love that. The color is also a plus. Paired with a yellow check top, yellow clutch and black blazer to make a blue, yellow and black almost everyday look.
Have a great week.
