Floral and White

Hi Lovelies.
Happy Monday! Hope you had a nice weekend. Obviously, I can't wait for spring to arrive so I'm breaking out my floral print pieces. I paired this Zara floral print pant with a simple white peplum top to calm the busy bottom. With the addition of my go-to black pump and a black clutch, I was ready for the day.

Did you watch the Oscars last night? I did and certainly enjoyed it. Seth Macfarlane did a wonderful job hosting. I definitely had moments where my response to his jokes was Ouch! but it was still funny and TRUE. There were so many great moments from the first lady's appearance, to Jennifer Lawrence falling, to Adele's performance and  my favorite speeches by Ben Affleck, Daniel Day Lewis and Ang Lee. Of course I enjoyed seeing all the celebrities in their glitz and glam and seeing who wore what. Overall, it was a great show and very memorable.

Easy Work Wear

Happy Thursday lovers! Thank you and welcome to my new followers!
Hope you're having a great week so far. With Monday off work, this week has gone by incredibly fast. I can't believe another weekend is right around the corner.
Seems like spring is so close but so far away at the same time. This week has been nice and sunny but still super cold. Can't wait for the weather to turn over already.

In the mean time, I have been enjoying some delicious and yummy food courtesy of my sister. She is really good at this food thing. In her next life maybe she'll be a chef. Actually, she can still be a chef in this life. She's staying with us for a while and on nights when her schedule permits, she has been cooking up a storm for us. I'm enjoying it while it last and Mr. D. is really enjoying it as well. Something different. I've been too engulfed in enjoying the food as soon as it's done that I keep forgetting to take pictures.  I did take pictures of the last meal she made, noodle stir fry and sent it to my other sister who said it's ojoro (cheating). Lol! I've picked up a couple of new tips and some very easy new recipes that I'll most likely share with you once I try them myself.
Don't ask how this outfit post turned out to be a food blabbing post, either way someone is really excited about all that yummy goodness. :)

Ok, on to the outfit. For a pretty easy laid back office look, I paired this sweater, previously worn here with one of my ankle pants and  my angle booties and it was just another playful work wear. Enjoy!

Currently Loving::Kitchen Storage

If you are anything like me, then you don't like clutter all over your kitchen counter or even in the drawer and cabinet space. You try to store away as many appliances as you can, only bringing them out when they need to be used. You find ways to keep things organized, easily accessible and pleasing to the eyes.
One of my biggest storage challenge is my spice cabinet. I have quite a few of them and sometimes, I wish I could see everything at once. I end up having multiple of the same things just because the old one was hiding in the back. It would also be nice to get to the ones in the back without having to off load all the ones in the front. I mean, it's not a deal breaker but it would be a nice convenience to have.
With the newly designed kitchen storage, all these and more is possible. You can have a completely clutter free counter and an eye pleasing drawer and cabinet space.
Here are some great clutter free kitchen drawers and cabinets I wouldn't mind having in a future home. Enjoy!

Double Peplum Blazer

Hi Loves!
Happy President's Day! Hope you had a great Valentine's day and enjoying the long weekend. I am still enjoying my 3-day weekend filled with lots of rest, relaxation and family time.
Today's outfit features another great find from F21.  This structured double peplum front zipper blazer is another favorite addition to my closet. I remember I stopped shopping at F21 some years ago.  Actually few months before I graduated from college mostly because I felt like their clothing didn't fit my evolving and post graduate style. Sometime mid  last year I went to their online store and was surprised by how much their branding and items has improved. I've been going back ever since and finding pieces like this that looks like they are from anywhere but F21. Oh wow, I fell like I just wrote a F21 endorsement post, far from my intention but oh well.
Enjoy the rest of your day Lovelies!

Black With A Twist

Hi Loves!
Happy Tuesday! Hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a great start. Mine is going well but, I'm looking forward to this weekend already because it is a 3-day weekend.
I mentioned I attended a birthday reception for my pastor in a previous post. Here's what I wore. I love black dresses and I don't think you can ever go wrong with a one; that might explain why I have quite a few in my closet. I love this dress and how it highlight all the right and sensitive feminine spot without showing any skin. Honestly, it took me a while to settle on wearing this dress for that particular occasion as I was having one of those "I don't have anything to wear" moment. I'm glad I picked this dress and it was not only perfect for the event but for the weather as well.
Wish you a great rest of the week.

Maple Cajun Fish Fillet with Herb Roasted Potatoes and Green Beans

 Hi loves.
Today I bring you a very easy and quick dinner option. The fish is no doubt the main focus of this dish. I came across the idea of using maple syrup to season fish some time ago, so I searched for recipes that I'm comfortable with to try. I found this one on All recipe and modified it a bit to fit my taste. I love the simplicity and easiness of this recipe and can't wait to modify it even more and try it on Salmon.

The potato recipe is already a staple in my kitchen, adapted from one of my favorite recipes previously posted here. There is a little variation in how I make it each time, adding new ingredients or leaving one out but the overall idea remains the same. Another way to make potatoes without boiling water or using the oven.

I must say I've been on the hunt for the perfect way to cook green beans and I'm yet to find one that satisfies my need. There's either to much extra stuff added or it comes out too soft or too hard. I finally gave up on trying to find recipes and decided to experiment in my kitchen till I get what I want. So, this green beans recipe my friends, is my perfect go-to way of making it. Sometimes, less is more. I finally have the perfect timely down to get the right texture and crunchiness I've been looking for.

Combine these three individual staples together and you get one balance and tasty meal.
Enjoy!

Matching Burgundy

Hello people! Happy Sunday!
Tonight I'm enjoying family time with my hubby and my sister watching the Superbowl. A good change of pace as this weekend was a tough one for me, loosing one of my friends.
I am definitely not a football fan but for some reason I've been sucked into watching this game. This will the first football game I would sit down to watch. I'm still pretty surprise I'm watching, following along and finding it interesting. May the best team win. Even though my house is rooting for the Ravens.

Today's outfit post is a casual weekend wear. Easy, breezy and comfortable. I mentioned I don't like turtlenecks in a previous post but this is another one I can tolerate. It's soft and free. I have a couple other turtlenecks that I take off right after putting on because they are so uncomfortable and it feels like I'm choking. I'm still holding on to them thinking I'll get use to it but I'm starting to realize that's not going to happen. So I might just re-purpose the tops and cut them.

If you haven't enter the giveaway, you still have a chance to do that here.

Have a great week ahead.
